Annular Solar Eclipse
New Moon in Cancer
June 20/21, 2020
On July 20, 2020 at approximately at 11:45 pm EST, the Annular Solar Eclipse will move through phases as the partial eclipse will move from Africa’s to India. The maximum eclipse will be viewed at 2:40am EST and the new moon will be graced one minute later at 2:41am on June 21, 2020 in Cancer at 0 degrees. This will form a perfect D shape for those that can view it.
Contrasting most eclipses, this eclipse will gleam in only one area of the hemisphere and it will only be seen by certain locations. Those that will have a benefit will have to be located in or visit the coast of Africa such as Sudan and Yamen. Additional areas can include India – especially Delhi, Pakistan, and Dubai. Expanding to China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and even Guam, these are the areas of the partial eclipse. However, this is primarily a India/China eclipse.
The closest we can come to understanding the energy would be as it was felt in June 2009 and June 2017. However, it is an ending to a situation that may have begun in December 2018 at the same degree.
One thing is certain, Cancers will begin to feel a little relief as this is the 2nd to last eclipse according to VPAT (Vedic Philosophical Ayurveda Theories). The solar eclipse will surely bring endings (out of the blue) and thus, Cancers have 7 years to plant their seeds.
Nevertheless, do not be too relaxed as Mercury retrograde may still be making some twists and turns for you until the end of July (Read more about it here).
Solar energy is peripheral, self-protective, defensive, and dynamic – all echoed and articulated from within our life force. This eclipse is predominantly concerned with inspiring and persistence, our standards, and resilience which can be enhanced and strengthened. We begin to feel this revolution penetratingly, so have faith in our aid for the world and the full appearance of our humanity.
As we echo back to the events that have rippled our nation and divided us for so long only minor adjustments and mitigation efforts have been made in the past. Cancer energy is concerned with family, nurturing and love, and paired with the energy of the lunar eclipse in Sagittarius/Scorpio earlier this month (read more about it here), it is not surprising that the turn of events is forcing all of us to stand up for what is right and will continue to do so for quite some time.
This divide is not just a black and white issue but it revolves around all minority issues. If we look back at the events of December 2018, when migration to the United States from Mexico was halted and children were separated from their families, the world was watching with tears in their eyes. Then again I did predetermined these events at the end of December 2019 in my predictions of 2020 (read about it here).
But lives were not the only effected areas during the similar energies. In June of 2001, Pennsylvania was declared a disaster state where loses in the Commonwealth of PA due to Tropical Storm Allison were calculated in the millions. The nation was also requesting private industries to assist in fight for AIDS pandemic. In India however, the earthquakes and collapse of a bridge kills millions of people. As we move forward to 2017, it is easier said that similar events continue to test the strength of the world
In June of 2017 the energy was intense. Once again, immigration becomes the headline news. A travel ban halts travel to many countries and immigration was once again the magnifying glass to divide families and communities alike.
The events that led to violent and peaceful marches within the last few weeks around police brutality in the killing George Floyd in Minneapolis are not the first events that have divided the nation. In June of 2017, Philando Castile, also an African American male, was fatally shot by a police officer during a traffic stop and later cleared of all charges. Perhaps these are a turn of events leading to change where people can begin to feel safe as a community, disconnecting color, race, and sex from triggers that instigate police brutality in the future.
On the other hand, as tropical storms rippled through the nation in 2001 and in 2017, it will be similar again this year. However, I would not be surprised if these systems change into more lethal storms, growing to hurricane capacity.
This 6-month period is a time to focus on public ties, interacting, enlightening and nurturing closeness to siblings and friends. However, Cancerians will not be the only ones affected by this eclipse as all Cardinal Signs will feel the energy (Cancers, Libra, Capricorns and Aries).
A few days prior to the New Moon, known as the DARK MOON, drives are at their deepest receding tide, in groundwork for the new cycle to begin. Each New Moon indicates the vision to kick off a new cycle in your life. Contingent on the fundamental quality of the sign in which the New Moon falls in a chart, energies on unpredictable levels are subtle, be they sanctified, detached, investigative or communicative.
The modality of the sign regulates whether the stress is on consecutive, power, or obedience. New Moon in Cancer forces matters of tribute as gratification and haven of the world as we know it; maybe it is war within our minds. Commitment, protection, and protections of our food and water systems will be in highlighted in the news. A desire to live a humbler existence and be black and white in economic decisions is seen. Romance makes an enormous comeback!
As there are two Lunar and one solar eclipse this summer, each one will have its own unique prospective as to what to expect. The combination of all eclipses and Mercury retrograde will paint synchronized predispositions as to what to expect in the next 6 months.
The house in which eclipses fall is an important facet to how one handles the energy, or rather, makes use of it. Though what is elaborated below is based upon generalizations, depending upon what form of Astrology you prefer, I would suggest you contact your Astrologer as to how your life will play out in the next 6 months.
However, please remember these are not astrological predictions, rather, they are VPAT predictions as to the predisposition generalized based upon certain characteristics. I will be focusing on those that will be impacted by this the most, prior to those that may have little to no effect.
Gemini/Cancer
Since this solar eclipse is in 0 degrees in Cancer, those that are late born Gemini and early born Cancers will be affected most by this eclipse. Some of you may already be feeling it by the time this is posted. Dear Cancer, you have one more eclipse which will be the Cancer/Capricorn eclipse in July then you are home free until 2027. However, dear Gemini, your journey is just beginning. This is the first eclipse that will trigger events yet to come for you. November 30, 2020, you will feel the full effects of your own Lunar eclipse. But for now, both of you must be feeling the lethargic energy of Mercury retrograde (read more about it here).
Gemini: Please be mindful to your finances and your health. There may be a tendency to spend more than you save.
Cancer: Be careful with your spending as there is a possibility you may lose more than you gain, and this will take a natural effect on your health. Expenses and health issues may come up unexpectedly so please be more careful. Doing anything risky with your finances will not pan out well.
Scorpio/Sagittarius
Scorpio: The lunar eclipse in your sign earlier this month may have brought you some new beginnings. However, be extra cautious with virus-related issues, and be mindful with your finances; consider yourself warned not to make unnecessary investments.
Sagittarius: As lunar eclipse has put an end to some of your issues, be extra cautious in all areas of interpersonal relationships. You will soon see that your hard work has paid off however, do not be surprised as old health issues come cropping up.
Pisces, Virgo
Pisces: Stay focused on family matters as you may feel discomfort in areas of career, however, if you are looking for a new position you may need to be more active. There is a possibility of lethargic energy, and you may blame Mercury retrograde for this (read about it here).
Virgo: During this time there will be trials and tribulation in areas of your work. Be more vigilant with your work and do not lend or borrow money. You may also feel stress to complete tasks in a timely fashion. This may have to do a lot with Mercury retrograde (read about it here).
Aries, Libra & Capricorn
Aries: Be very vigilant in areas of taking too many risks currently. You must stay engaged in aspects of communication that may make a difference in your life.
Libra: Stay focused and vigilant in areas of career and projects. Do not take any unnecessary risks and be careful of upper respiratory infections – consult your physician.
Capricorn: Your last eclipse next month, until 2027, will change your life and it’s time to lay down your seeds, as Saturn is currently visiting you where he feels most at home. This is the time you will have great problem solving gifts given to you. But the main key will be to maintain your composure and be realistic in every aspect.
Aquarius, Taurus, Leo
Aquarius: Friction in areas of interpersonal relationships are possible, so be mindful of everyone and bring peace and harmony back.
Taurus: There could be family and financial issues that need your attention. Unnecessary expenses should be avoided. Be mindful of your sight and visit an optometrist.
Leo: Financial gains are possible. Wishes will be granted and new relationships will also be created. However, be mindful of your communication with everyone during the Mercury retrograde phase (read more here).

There may be times the energy will be excessively susceptible, and a need to hide in your shell may become apparent. Cancers are frequently robust guardians of family and crowds. The mantras can be hard to pronounce for many but are a powerful source of energy. This is certainly true for the solar eclipse, but it can be difficult to pronounce.

Direct translation as follows: May the universal light of the supreme enlighten our wisdom to help us along the path which of virtue.
Prior to the Solar Eclipse I would also suggest that you take a spiritual bath.
