Total (Hybrid) Solar Eclipse

Moving forward in 2013 has been a struggle for many of us; as many events begin to change and new ones give us a smile. The total solar eclipse of the sun in 11 degrees of Scorpio will change many things as we see it. New beginnings will also be brought with a new moon in Scorpio on November 03, 2013.
This spectacular event begins with a hybrid solar eclipse on November 03, 2013 at approximately 5:05 am EST and the moon will be voided at approximately 7:50 am EST. The difference between a total and hybrid total eclipse is that the hybrid begins as an annular eclipse which looks like a ring around the moon in certain parts of the world and it will look like a total solar eclipse in other parts.

This is the third series of eclipses which will continue to impact all fixed signs, especially Scorpio. The first total eclipse was on November 13, 2012 at 25 degrees which affected later Scorpios (Read about it here), the second eclipse was lunar eclipse on April 25, 2013 read about it here.
This is the last eclipse of the year and everyone is being affected. Not only will Mercury retrograde impact Scorpios and those that have Scorpio in their chart but Saturn is still transiting Scorpio (Read about it here). As always, mutable signs are being affected by retrograde which always cause them problems. Read about it here.
The hybrid eclipse is spectacular in every sense even though the eclipse begins its motion 2 hours before. This is because the sun and the moon have to transit; some will see a partial solar eclipse which will be eastern North America from Rhode Island to Florida. As the moon’s shadow will pass slowly east of Jacksonville Florida and it will be a total eclipse by the time the moon is voided. Therefore, a partial solar eclipse will be seen in parts of Europe, Asia, Africa, Northeast America and Northwest South America; including some from Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans. However the total solar eclipse will be visible from Uganda.
Many Scorpios have already changed their jobs, moved, left or started a new relationship, some ended a long term non-proactive relationship and others found their soul mates. However, for those who have not yet moved, not switched a job, or have not met someone new, your time is soon to come. But be careful, Jupiter is retrograding and therefore money, luck and communication may be slowed while you go through a magnificent change.

The effects of this eclipse can be felt as early as 5 days before (October 30, 2013). The discomfort of the energy of the eclipse will be felt by everyone; however, the intensity of the eclipse depends upon the house that the eclipse falls in an astrological chart. Every fixed sign or those that have fixed sign in their chart, especially early born Scorpios, may feel this effect more so than ever as well as early fixed signs.

One of the best and most auspicious events that also occurs during this total solar eclipse is Diwali which is known to many as the festival of lights. The eclipse also lit up the sky for this event even last year. During Diwali, rows and rows of divas, or lamps, are set at windows and doors to invite Goddess Luxmi into our homes, as well as bring individual light to the home and internal consciousness. This is to bring joy, love, and peace to our hearts and souls. They say that a few days before Diwali it is advised to clean the home, get rid of clutter in the closets, hallways and wherever Goddess Luxmi can step. Clear the floor of debris and have nothing directly on the floor except for rugs or furniture because Goddess Luxmi cannot step on dirt and clutter. She will bless every one of us; even if we do not feel it right away.
This eclipse will pressure all of us and the light of your own Devine will be the security and shield zone. The eclipse will also question you what about your home. What about your family? What about your security? You have been wondering about these issues for quite some time. The solar eclipse forces you to aggressively make that change. It is about new beginnings, and all of a sudden old issues come to the forefront, forcing you to take a different tactic. Whereas good people become even better and the worst people turn worse. This eclipse is particularly relationship oriented – our relations with others can be severed, defied, or suddenly welded together as the shock calls one to action. We may deeply consider our feelings and needs within the context of the house where planetary aspects are affected. At 11 degrees in Scorpio, where this eclipse is burning, there is a strong indication that people will see and think the worst of everything. This is because the aspect of the darkness is difficult for many. Scorpio represents the darkest planet in the universe (Pluto) and this energy causes people to feel that things are difficult in their life and melodramatic. Often, this can represent defensiveness where points of view are sharp but dealt with sarcasm, doubt, and cynicism.
People with fixed signs (Scorpio, Taurus, Leo and Aquarius) prominent in their charts will have a hard time separating their independence from their emotions; failing to recognize that something (or someone) they want may simply represent ego involvement instead of emotional commitment. This eclipse, unlike the one in November 2012 but much more similar to the one in April, focuses on those that are born November 2, through 11. This is not just relevant to only those born at this time, almost everyone will feel the effects; especially those that have their prominent sign in Scorpio or fixed signs. This 6-month period is a time to focus on other people’s money or joint ventures of some sort. Since there are two eclipses in Scorpio, different aspects will occur in people’s lives. For example, the first one could bring money and the second could bring introduction. The first eclipse does have Mars in the 7th house which represents relationships and could mean that if a person is single, then commitments will be on their minds. If one is already in a commitment there will be a stronger bond. Even though the first eclipse can seem slightly negative, people who are in a relationship will give the support needed to move forward.
Usually, eclipses are created to teach all of us something; if it means to raise awareness or just bring balance. Scorpio represents the deeper and darker side of the planet which usually has to do with something hidden. In this eclipse this is about waking up people around them and finding other people’s kinks or weaknesses and with that teaching spirituality. Scorpio’s have tenacity, empowerment, and motivation to teach people how spirituality, responsibility, and actions must be done with personal integrity and spirituality. Whenever such teaching takes place, Scorpios become even more spiritual and find understanding through others; their vision and drives change by looking at others and sticking to what they don’t want to be. The lesson here is instead of dismissing, learning to engage in it – taking a risk.
The total solar eclipse is in the sign of Scorpio and it will be about renewal, reawakening and of Phoenix rising. Often it is said that within 90 to 180 days, the results of the eclipse will be identified. But with Saturn in Scorpio, which entered Scorpio on October 5, 2012 and could last anywhere from 2.5 years to 7years (read about it here), each step is a resurgence, instruction, correction and attention which are all the traits of Saturn. Along with the eclipse, which is another delivery and return, it’s about crafting, rescinding, generating, and finishing. Ultimately, anything that does not work in someone’s life will go. Let it go with grace; if not, Pluto (ruling Scorpio) will make sure that it is demolished.
Many will not feel the effects of this eclipse until 6 months after which is gear to climax February 3-13, 2014. Therefore, being conscious of this would be advisable. Think back perhaps to November 2012, this meant the climax happened in February 2013.
As I was writing this, I too was trying to remember what happened in November 2012. This is when my wonderful journal comes to use – when major events impact our lives it is always great to refer back to them and remember how we handled them. A few weeks before the eclipse I was given a gift of a full ride to pursue my third masters. And as November 28 2012, the day of the Lunar eclipse in Gemini (Read about it here), my assignment was over, (college professor). With severance pay in hand, I heard the news that the man I love, adore and respect got a job offer in another state with a promotion. Though this was hard to swallow, I made the most important decision in my life. To follow the man I love to another state leaving behind my family, friends whom I once called this “my comfort zone”. Three months later in February I found myself picking out the ring to get married and the plans were underway to have an official engagement ceremony in May but in April it was official during the lunar eclipse (read about it here). So the future of this eclipse could mean that the ring is bought for him in November during the eclipse and 3 months later the wedding and perhaps in 3 months later a baby (not)? But anything could be destined. Therefore it is a full circle for many.

I truly believe in the concept “When one door closes another opens” as well as “what does not kill you makes you stronger.” I was sadden by leaving my school and my students and feeling worthless for not having to deliver my passion, but the joy of bringing this to one person overpowered what I had lost. There may be arguments, seriousness, prejudice and unpredictability while the Moon is in Scorpio. This eclipse has fixed signs written all over it and highlighted for Scorpios for the next 6 months and may appear as early as 90 days from now and climax in 120 days.
Scorpio: This eclipse is all you. You may be questioning your personality, changes your personality takes, or the way you react to everyone or you may even change the way you dress, hair etc. It is who you are, how you are going to get there, how much you have sacrificed, and how much more you will. It may give you energy to change or realize what is not working as far as you, your image, and your personality.
Aquarius: There is a great intensity here – it may be that something is hidden and not working in your family sector or your professional career; or that something will come that will light up your life. This eclipse also questions if you should go back to school and learn something new. Additionally, it could have to do with legal issues going well or not going well. It is mostly about your karma – if you hid anything you will pay the price, if you have not and you made decisions based upon spiritual right for you and others, then you will be treated right. Either way it’s about fulfilling or re-imaging your spiritual self.
Gemini: You know how you like to socialize and you know you have to work. This eclipse will question if the work you do causes you issues or are you taking care of yourself. You may find a hidden illness because you were too busy indulging or you may have to work so hard that you become fatigued. It could also mean that the way you work and where you work may not be good for you. Either you will change jobs because it exhausts you or you may change careers all together.
Virgo: Your communication skills have always been tested and people are often affected by them. Often, you may seem to others “rough” around the edges however, have you thought about being your own boss or going back to school, or taking more short trips to ease the tension? Perhaps this is what you will do. You want to keep busy when you have too much time on your hands and when your mind is not active you become a little edgy. Therefore, you may be looking at staying busy; going back to school, creating something awesome, taking many trips, giving presentations and talking a lot.
Sagittarius: Something has to change doesn’t it? Haven’t you said that forever now? But you do nothing about it. I would personally like to give you a book with empty pages and call it a “book of excuses”. This eclipse forces you to go inwards, find out if you are your own worst enemy, what is causing you difficulties, and what you are going to do about it. You will find your best friend is really your enemy and perhaps you find out your enemy really has your best interest at heart. Be careful to stay away from scrupulous people.
Cardinal signs just went through a transit – is there anything more that can be placed? However, they are pure gifts that only the cardinal signs can handle – those of a spiritual nature and inclination.
Aries: As if you did not get slapped and woken up already last month. But you are strong and can handle any changes that come your way; this is a change that could be a real good one where it talks about money, other people’s money, and things that are so transformative that it may even cause you to change dramatically. You may find that the business closes down and the money is not coming in as you had anticipated, that your business will expand, or you find new work to make new money.
Cancer: You heart is where your home and relationships are as you know things have been needing a change. All of a sudden a relationship which you closed the doors to will either weld back together or all things you love the most seem a distance away. Either way, expect the unexpected. Either your hobby will have the energy to make money or you will give it up. You get married (or proposal of) or divorced.

Either you don’t have any, or your money/job/project ends and you have to be miserly. The other possibility is that you receive a promotion and your money just comes from all directions. Your gift is for you to understand that if you have made wise choices and acted out of a spiritual nature it will stay, if not, it needed to change and it was hidden from you.
Capricorn: You know you love to be around people that give you pleasure. All that you felt as your support system could either leave you or you may make new friends; never the less it is all about that support you. Groups, friends, and family, this eclipse the very essence of how you or your associations have honored, respected and appreciated you. If this is lacking, then you will feel that you have no support system and have to do things by yourself.

Since the moon in Scorpio represents Impulsive, Unwavering, Fiery, Daring, and Vigorous, it is my suggestion for us to remain balanced. This eclipse and moon is extraordinary to many signs. It is my suggestion that you purchase a white candle and carve your name through the wick. Anoint the candle with lavender oil, sandalwood and chant the psalm 39. You may also choose to recite a mantra every morning until the next moon cycle.
Remember that with all applications of psalms and mantras, achieving the desired result is dependent upon the quality of intention, and when it comes to finding satisfying relationships, it is of the greatest importance to begin with a clear understanding of what your goal should be. The intention of this mantra is the to keep us in balance; from losing our temper through darkness and blurred energy
With every moon cycle, remember to cross out the old affirmation even if there is the slightest change and create new ones. The perfect number for aspirations is 10. This means to list 10 aspirations and recite them every night until the next moon cycle. Remember, never make the affirmations beginning with “I need”, it must be worded “I will need to be shown how to retain”
