Total Solar Eclipse
New Moon in Scorpio
November 13, 2012
On November 13, 2012 at approximately 5:17 pm EST and 2:17 PST we will have a Total Solar Eclipse of the sun in Scorpio at about 21 degrees.
This gorgeous Eclipse will not be visible to many of us unless you are in Australia, New Zealand, South America or Antarctica. Though we can compare the visual effects of the eclipse with many we already know where the sun totally covers the moon and it only happens when there is a full moon, the eclipse energy will be unique for sure. The energy of this eclipse is the one felt in the autumn and fall of 1983/1984.
Those that will be affected by the Solar Eclipse are Scorpios. However, fixed signs will also be affected (Leo, Aquarius, and Taurus), including those who have their houses, ascendants or any nodes in the sign of Scorpio charts.
We have been swaying back and forth with the Gemini/Sagittarius eclipses for some time; however, this eclipse is quite unusual in a sense that this is Scorpio/Sagittarius eclipse. Where the sun is entering Sagittarius and the moon is in Scorpio, this may be one of the most powerful eclipses in many areas. Scorpio always wants power and can be very intimidating and luring whereas, Sagittarius drive for truth and justice in areas of politics and law. This together can be the beginning of a possible rebellion which could bring forth issues that would have been raised as to the results of the election or ballots which were lost or anything that forces people to revolt against results of anything that has to do with law and justice; but will we be happy with knowing the truth? This is yet to be decided.
Solar dynamism is secondary, shielding, self-protective, and vigorous – and reflected and expressed from within our life force. This eclipse is particularly objective and purpose oriented – our ideals and resolve can be enhanced and intensified. Many people for centuries have idealized the Solar Eclipse as a bad premonition which enhances the sounds of nature and which in fact creates phenomenons in the world. Many Indian Scholars, as well as Pundits (Vedic Astrologers), predict these changes will affect everyone’s community, economic, and opinionated sectors.
But the solar eclipse also brings a very auspicious time for Hindus; it is the beginning days of Dwali, known as festival of lights. During the festival of lights many Hindus clean their home almost like spring cleaning for five days and open their doors and windows and let the air into their home to welcome Goddess Luxmi. Devas are lit (handmade votives), meals are prepared, gifts are exchanged and it is as close as one can understand to Christmas.
Because materialism is viewed as distorted power, material goods (ie. money home, etc) are a reward of things that one has done in their past. So if one lived a life of giving and sacrifices then goddess Luxmi will be rewarding. On Dwali books are worshiped (ie. check books, bank ledgers etc.) so that business dealings are done in an honest and humble manner. These are also days of celebrations, dancing, eating and visiting old families and neighbors. It’s a time of love and appreciation for even the smallest of gifts.
The total solar eclipse is in the sign of Scorpio and it will be about regeneration, rebirth and of Phoenix rising. Often it said that within 90 to 180 days, the results of the eclipse will be identified. But with Saturn in Scorpio, which entered Scorpio on October 5, 2012 and could last any where from 2.5 years to 7years (read about it here), each step is a rebirth, lessons, discipline and focuses which are all the traits of Saturn. Along with the eclipse which is another birth and rebirth, it’s about creating, destroying and creating and destroying. Ultimately, anything that does not work in someone’s life will go. Let it go with grace; if not, Pluto (ruling Scorpio) will make sure that it is destroyed.
Scorpio energy will bring shocks; bringing with it the struggle and pain to survive. However, Scorpio energy brings highness to Scorpions. Scorpios are always known as healers, by brining the truth through philosophies, they are lovers being the most sexual sign of the zodiac. They are mothers who always are protective of their children and home, they are sisters, brothers, teachers who bring enlightens to their students, they are artist who bring vision of a mystery of life, they are your psychics who offer the options to choose between the light or darkens to your life. They offer profound wisdom to heal others because they have experience the extreme lows, they know what it feels like when justice is not served, they know how to let go and breath, they know one cannot wear out old tires, they know and teach what it is like to reinvent, resurrect, and restructure.

This solar eclipse will bring out portions of therapeutic, compassion, emotions, spoken needs, subconscious and reserve or the quite side of you.
When the moon is in Scorpio, we become more attuned to concealment or secretive influences and our psychic antennas may be activated. This is a time for working to maintain emotional control, and for working on overcoming inner obsession, thoughts or desires. There can be a need for recognizing habits and reactions that keep you locked in power struggles. This New Moon is most favorable for seeking assistance from your divine center and Higher Power to gently release your self from inner negativities. Emotional Power is the focus.
The Moon in Scorpio marks a time of intensified fervor and desire. People may be feeling more self-confident and more challenged, as well as being motivated and resourceful. In general, emotions at both ends of the spectrum are heightened and likely to vary quite a bit throughout this influence. Connections on a deep level could be made with members of the opposite sex with the Moon in Scorpio. Represented by the Scorpion, Scorpio possesses a mysterious and penetrative nature. Feelings of jealousy and revenge may arise, so special caution is needed to avoid confrontations. The Scorpio Moon can be a catalyst for power urges, which can often result in violence or even homicidal impulses.

It is about new beginnings, and all of a sudden old issues come to a forefront, forcing you to take a different tactic. Whereas good people become even better and the worse people become even worse. One must take the time to cleanse the energy and be easy not to make bold moves.

Well it is nothing really new to Scorpions who continue to resurrect from ashes to ashes dust to dust recreating themselves like a fly on the wall, but they are always noticed, because of their work and ability to hone in on the things that truly matter.
Since, moon in Scorpio represents Headstrong, Willful, Hot-Tempered, Brave, and Energetic it is my suggestion for us to remain balanced. This new moon is extraordinary to many signs. It is my suggestion that you purchase a white candle and carve your name through to the wick. Anoint the candle with lavender oil and sandalwood and chant the psalm 39.
You may also choose to recite a mantra every morning until the next moon cycle. Remember that with all applications of psalms and mantras achieving the desired result is depended upon the quality of intention, and when it comes to finding satisfying relationships, it is of the greatest importance to begin with a clear understanding of what your goal should be. The mantras can be hard to pronounce for many but it is a powerful source of energy the mantra for Scorpio moon is:
