Full Moon in Cancer
December 22, 2018
2018 caused us anxiety, shock, tears, but most of all, it brought out the humbleness that the universe wants from us. The last full moon of 2018 will enter our glorious sky with its elegance and brilliance. This Full moon is a Capricorn-Cancer axis at 0-1 degrees, depending upon the orb. The brightest point will be on December 22, 2018 at approximately 11:28am EST and 8:28am PST.
However, VPAT (Vedic Philosophical Ayurvedic Theories) would consider this full moon to be orbiting Gemini/Cancer, as the philosophies are based upon moon constellation rather than Sun placement. But before the moon lights our sky with grace, the day before (December 21) is the Winter Solstice which will bring a beautiful trine to those who were born in Scorpio. Mercury will be in Scorpio and Jupiter is already in Scorpio, thereafter Mars will shine a light on Scorpio as well.
The moon rules Cancers and our reactions are ruled by us. Cancers are recognized to hold on tight to family and structure, nevertheless, all things must come to an end one time or another. Thus, this will be a time to make room for something new. This could mean a family member or a friend that is as close as a family member may leave your life. All those that have planets in Cancer are predisposed by the full moon.
This could mean that tempers will rise, and lips will not be sealed anymore causing the volcano to erupt. Perhaps we can blame it on the planets, as this moon’s energy will be tangoing with Saturn (God of difficult lessons and Karma). This has a lot to do with “You can’t handle the truth”-Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men. Presence, candor, and honesty is not always easy because Cancers do not want to hurt anyone’s feelings.
This sensitive and nurturing moon is also named the “Long night moon” in the Northern Hemisphere as it is so close to the Winter Solstice. Furthermore, in the Southern Hemisphere it is called the Rose Moon as the fragrance and the elegance of Roses in bloom.
Cancer is a fostering sign. Anywhere the placement of Cancer is in one’s chart is where Cancer rules. For example, if a person has Cancer in their second house and the second house focuses on money, it usually means that they will be working in areas of people, instruction, or anywhere where protecting, encouragement, and the instinctual side is desired.
During the full moon tides are usually choppy as are the feelings of people. A couple of days (up to 5) before the full moon passions get extensive, particularly for water signs (Cancer, Pisces and Scorpio) and their contradictory fire signs (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius); these astrological signs are the most effected. Even with all of this, the placement is in Gemini/Cancer/Capricorn, so it can be assumed that everyone will be affected by linkage or association.
The flow of the pressure of the moon, and the earth on the opposite side, causes severe wooziness. Sometimes tears have been known to fall with no reason and visions are the most lucid. But most of all, psychic antennas are hot wired and often, we can finish other people’s sentences before they can say anything else.
On the other hand, if you are a fire sign, perhaps fury, bitterness, and touchiness will be your nature. Remember, it is what it seems, and this shall pass. Stay grounded and have your feet soaked in kosher salt through the waxing stage of the moon.
I would not be surprised if there is overflowing water (i.e. rain or snow, snow, or mud) starting December 18; perhaps just in time to have a white Christmas for those living in the northern parts. In addition, this trend may continue for at least another two to three more weeks. Perhaps it is just what we need to heal our emotions. Due to the watery emotions and brilliant energy of the moon, watery devastation are possible; and this could also be the reason for our own emotions.
Sometimes our feelings and misinterpretations can destroy things due to our own perceptions and things can become overly dramatic. However, for all that is ruined there is an opportunity to reconstruct with beauty and happiness.
Full moon repeatedly brings endings which lead us to new beginnings by the next moon. This full moon will bring to a climax how confident we are to the moods that are attached to our message, how much we cut, and how much we relay to others. Full moon can be a radiant time; however, it all depends upon our sensibleness with the energy.

My Advice for Cancers for the remainder of the year:
This is a time for career advancement and finding harmony with coworkers and supervisors. You may feel the desire to travel or see new things. Your worries over finances could get you depressed, even if there is no need to worry. This could lead to sickness in the liver or lower back. It’s time to network, not a time to get sick with a cold. If you are looking for love this is the best, most opportune month to do so. One thing for sure, keep your crabbiness at bay because a simple connection could turn into something very important in your life, whether for work purposes or personal.
The full moon gives a sign for us to surge in cost the implication and purpose of what has been given to us and what is around us. It is also for learning what it means to be aware of the motive. The full moon is as powerful as everything the moon stands for. This moon rules areas of culture, philosophy, and karmic memories.
National matters will consume most of us during the full moon in Cancer. State of mind and past remembrances will influence us toward people from our past. There is also an inclination that Mercury retrograde will not completely leave our atmosphere until Christmas Eve. These methods happen on a karmic level which allows us the gamble of going in opposite directions through saving things and people from our past; in many cases we thought we have let go yet were powerless to do so before.
A full moon in Cancer is also a terrible time for many, particularly if they cannot bond with people from the past. This will cause us to defile ourselves with things such as drinking, eating, or sexual liaisons; all of which will be regretted later. There will be a bad aftermath which may take months to get over.
The Cancer full moon is also very different because the energy will allow for independence from old wounds which may have generated sore wrongdoings and the powerlessness to reason and moving past spiteful things. The energy of this moon will deliver the renewal essential to release oneself from emotional constipation, to only envisage a world without shackles, or to return the vigor back into the self so the energy can be placed somewhere else as a precursor to stunning things for the future.
This will also be a time that gives self-control to be solidified where it may not be our nervousness we’re holding on to, but it’s the opinion of our state that make a person feel the way they do. Whether it be people or places, the speeches have caused a lot of agony and irrational choices based upon other’s standards and rules, not your own.
Hang on tight though! Permitting the damaging energy is not always stress-free, as it has been firm for, so long. Envision for an instant an addict going cold turkey. It can be the most tough curing that a person must tolerate. Similarly, love can be just as co-dependent if it is makes us feel good. Therefore, letting go will cause many to be erratic and illogical. Give yourself and others time to restructure.
Principles and trust in your own intuition will be the key to forthcoming opportunity. Open your consciousness and emotion broader than ever before. If you need to cry, then cry. Let it all go. Your concentration, emotion, and especially psyche, will let you know that it is ok to do so, and the screams are not of pain but of love. Demonstrate your love to someone with the kindest articulated words and the wounded will become sensible through empathy. However, if there is vagueness or hostility then the spoken words will have cut like a knife; becoming bottomless, deeper than the pits of any soul.
The chief footstep of letting go is to significantly do it. Cancers love kindness and love their homes. The power of this moon will give the energy needed to clean the home of mess, finish the missions which were not complete, and bring the exquisiteness and light of the full moon into the home. With all this influence in the air don’t overlook going into your shell too from time to time. Cancers love their solitude; this is how they love themselves and are tolerant of others. Upon conclusion of the parting there will be answers to identify the past and plant the seeds of tomorrow.
The importance of this moon is not only about emotional state, but it is also about belonging. Cancer is a sign of encouragement and the love of a mother to her son or daughter. It’s a karmic link, a sacrifice, and dedication to protection of the family. The need to protect may be so solid that there could be predispositions to demonstrate obsessive-compulsive behaviors such as eating, drinking and spending too much. It is an elevation to release feelings and at the same time, work to increase the value of what you have.
Memories of positive childhood understandings will generate imaginative responses, thus triggering the psychic energy which will be connected to the birth mother. The feelings may be very reliant on the moon and persistent, but the need to follow them is satisfying.
The moon in Cancer brings reassurance, feelings, empathy, dreams, and emotional issues in our lives. The Watery Cancer Moon brings up reminiscences of childhood, warm motherly arms, and affectionate touches for loved ones. Our emotions turn in a sea of prehistoric symbols…. watch out for crankiness! While your disposition may become impulsive, people will come to you enthusiastically for inspiration and care.
Generally, people will be obedient, careless, emotional, fervent, and appreciative. Inappropriately, this motherly look of caring is often articulated with food and it is easy to overeat. Cancer is a fostering sign and the most fertile sign of the zodiac. With the moon in Cancer, it is a good time for producing life and growth. Don’t be astounded if you get some news about a new baby or give birth; it could also be about weddings or reunions. It is all about families and children.
Moon in cancer represents Praise, Subtle, Tender, Inspired, and Vagueness. It is my suggestion that you purchase a pink candle and carve your name, and the name of your loved one, through to the wick. Anoint the candle with lavender oil or inspiration oil and chant Psalm 70.
You may also choose to recite a mantra every morning until the next moon cycle. Remember that with all applications of psalms and mantras achieving the desired result is dependent upon the excellence of intention. The Vedic mantras can be hard to pronounce for many but are a powerful source of energy. The mantra for Cancerian moon are given in four versions, from easy to the expert. Next year it will be a different algorithm.

Please note that I am not an astrologer, nor do I claim to be. These are general predilections; not necessary or precise to any individual recipient. However, they give a basic warning of what to expect during the lunar cycle.
Vedic readings are very distinctive in many senses; they integrate the stages of the moon and produce a reading which is based upon actions and reactions to the more ordinary parts of our lives which we can govern. This change is triggered through actions and responses which create a masterpiece of destiny, karma, dharma, and spiritual transits which often cloud us.
Our life is not just about looking at it with the view of the past; it embraces the present so that we can choose to shape a future of our love. A Vedic reading grips those morals and helps create that picture-perfect world through spiritual messages.
Wishing you the most memorable last full moon of 2018, that you are in touch with your emotions, and how those emotions affect others. Please remember to update your information on Vresponse for your gift before the 10th of December.
Additionally, if you have not had your VPAT chart done for free since 2017, it may be time to do so. The 2019 eclipse of the sun is not that far away and those that will be affected will be Cancer, Capricorn, and those that have those signs prominent in their charts.
Namaste,
