Full Moon in Scorpio
Hanumanh Jayanti Festival
April 21/22, 2016
Hopefully Mother Nature will allow to the spring to stay for just a little while longer. We have just passed the 2nd super new moon, 2nd eclipse, and are going into the 2nd retrograde for 2016. This full moon will be one of the most powerful moons, next to the eclipse, this spring.
The Taurus-Scorpio Full moon on April 22, 2016 at approximately 1:23am EST and 11:23pm April 21, 2016 (depending upon the orb) will surely light the sky. At 2 degrees at Taurus/Scorpio Axis, the closest to this energy would have been in 2008 when it was at 0 degrees in Taurus/Scorpio Axis.
Full moons have been known to bring natural high tides and water disasters. In 2008, CBS News reported, by May 3, 2008, “About 2.5 million people were left destitute by the storm.” Let’s hope that since many of the events of 2008 are being repeated this year, this does not happen. But perhaps Mother Nature is done being upset with us and will stop giving us such wacky weather. Enjoy the spring with this beautiful Pink moon in the Northern Hemisphere, as it is named, or Harvest moon in the Southern Hemisphere where the harvest is coming.
With 5 planets retrograding not only will this moon create some unstable energy but some deep soul search for many, especially Earth, Fire, Air signs, and all those who have planets in those areas.
Mercury and Jupiter retrograde will slow down earth signs and make them look at life with a different prospective, but it may also bring some energies of not wanting to let go of things so easily. However, Mercury, Mars, and Saturn are not making it easy on Sagittarius as karmic lessons, introspection, and loss of powers are among those things that cause mixed energies as well. In my Mercury blog I discussed this in depth – how almost all signs will be impacted by Mercury, Jupiter, Mars, Pluto and Saturn Retrograde. Maybe it’s another way of Mother Nature telling us to slow down (read more about it here).
As I had predicted, this year is all about transformations. Grace and gratitude will lift us from the abyss to the sublime once we recognize that change is an absolute (read more about it here).
Not only is this full moon going to be powerful but it brings with it the most auspicious day of the Hindu festival called Hanumanh Jayanti. This is a celebration of the birth of Hanuman who was one of truest devotees of Lord Rama. It has been written in the old scriptures and also recited throughout history that Hanuman alone was able, through his free will, to change shape into any form and by doing so saved Lord Rama’s wife and helped overcome evil. He represents a symbol of great strength and energy.
Some of the great masters of mantras can transfer the weakness of certain ones and give them strength of others with permission of free will. The devotees from all over the world visits temples to apply sindoor and ask the priest and Pandits for mantras to heal their children and parents through Hanumans strength.
However, in the eyes of Vedic philosophies, not only does this festival bless this moon but it is also the moon which will be quite important to Scorpios; including those who have primary planets in Scorpio. Anxiety just adds to the pessimism; keep in mind that this moon is about rebirth, regeneration, and integration. Asking for strength and vigor is about surrendering to the unknown.
Pluto rules Scorpios with prevailing areas of vagueness and sunlight. It is a burst between ethical and wicked. Scorpios flourish on control, yearning, and the mysterious. Therefore, if anyone has the sun or the moon in Scorpio this event will be even more penetrating than any other. Ask yourself how much you can erupt or rather, retrieve. From ashes to ashes, the Phoenix will rise.
Keep in mind that just because a chart does not have a sun in Scorpio it does not mean that this moon will not affect you. As a matter of fact, if there are any planets in Scorpio they will be ignited by this. Do I have your attention now?
For Scorpios and ascendants of Scorpios, you may have misperception with your partner; there is something suppressed, but it was not really hidden as it was preferred to be ignored. All that nonsense should not be disbelief. But, if you are in a vigorous relationship it could mean that you have the advantage this month. Communication with your partner will be genuine and close if you are not married, an engagement or a wedding is in the air for some of you. So going forth it is romance which has no absence.
When the Moon is complete, the gravitational pull between the Moon on one side of the earth and the Sun on the other, causes an excessive distress on our own bodily water levels, as well as the earth’s. Many may not feel the effects (depending on how influential the Moon is in your Astrological chart), but there is no doubt that this energy generates an inner tug and fullness – this may help us to bond spiritually with others.
Everything becomes wholesome and more powerful under the light of the Full Moon – desires and eccentricities can become quite inflated, and we may have more consciousness and focus on relationships. There is a spurt of energy from the light of the moon, perhaps there may even be more powerful dreams that night. Flow of blood and hemorrhaging are more likely during a Full Moon, so take care. This is the time to Reap, Pray and be Thankful, and to work on efficiency and success.
Love and Romance go uninhibited under a Full Moon, particularly around midnight. The Full moon is extremely neutral, clear minded, and conscious of your own needs as well as the needs of others. Traditionally, the early Europeans knew that this full moon was a time for plants and herbs to be harvested and dried as the richness of the first harvest was realized.
The Moon in Scorpio marks a time of monitoring yearning and passions. People may be feeling more arrogant and more confused, as well as being oversensitive yet pragmatic. In general, feelings at both ends of the gamut are judicious and likely to vary quite a bit through this influence. Connections on a deep level could be made with members of the opposite sex with the Moon in Scorpio.
Represented by the Scorpion, Scorpio owns a mysterious and persistent nature. The states of mind of dubiousness and retribution may arise, so special attentiveness is needed to avoid conflicts. The Scorpio Full Moon can be a substance for switched desires, which can often result in fierceness or even damaging coercion.
Recall that Scorpio has a suspicious and secretive nature. Avoid social difficulties. Be cautious of doubt and watch out for the Scorpio Sting. Please remember to pardon and overlook. Be cautious when networking with the opposite sex. However, this could be a good time for influential mixing with another on a deep emotional level!
The moon in Scorpio signifies Impulsive, Strong-mindedness, Explosiveness, Daring, and Vigor. It is my suggestion for us to remain balanced. This full moon is extraordinary to many signs. It is my suggestion that you purchase a white candle and carve your name through to the wick. Anoint the candle with lavender oil or sandalwood oil and chant the Psalm 39.
You may also choose to recite a mantra every morning until the next moon cycle. Remember that with all applications of psalms and mantras accomplishing the anticipated result is dependent upon the quality of intention. When it comes to finding satisfying relationships, it is of the greatest importance to begin with a clear understanding of what your goal should be. The mantras can be hard to pronounce for many but are a powerful source of energy. The mantra for Scorpio moon is:
(Om An-ga-ra-ka-ya Na-ma-ha)
This mantra is to call to the lord of peace and removal of any obstacles in your way.
The intention of this mantra is to keep us in balance; from losing our even nature through darkness and unfocused energy.
For those Hindu practicing Scorpios who are very proficient in mantras and how they are used you may choose the below mantra, however, please note you must know exactly what you are doing as the power of this mantra can have a very negative affect on you.
With every moon cycle, remember to cross out the old affirmation even if there is the slightest change and create new ones. The perfect number for aspiration is 10. This means to list 10 aspirations and recite them every night until the next moon cycle. Remember, never make the affirmations begin with “I need”, they must be worded “I will need to be shown how to retain”.
Please remember that I am NOT an astrologer. Rather, I am a Vedic reader, a discipline which incorporates Astronomy, Astrology and Vedic tendencies to build the most accurate readings which lead the pathway to change and reliance.
Prior to getting a reading from me, I would suggest you contact one of my recommended astrologers here and have them lead you to your conclusion and then let me be your guide to avoid pitfalls.
Please remember this is a intense full moon try not to make hasty decision as you will later regret it.
