New Moon in Taurus
May 15, 2018
We can finally say spring is in the air; the birds are chirping and rainfall has been a little above average. However, one can only pray that it continues to be spring a little while longer. With Rahu and Ketu in Cancer/Capricorn, expect the unexpected in weather patterns and our foundations may be rocked just a little. Though some events, whether national or international, have rocked the nation, this is on par for what is coming ahead (read more about it here).
The new moon in Taurus at 25 degrees (give or take 6-degree orb) will void across the sky on May 25, 2018 at 7:48 am EST, 4:48 am PST. Those that will be affected by this moon will be those that have later degrees in Taurus or anywhere in their chart. Not excluding all those that have Taurus in their VPAT chart as well as those born May 20 through May 30th.
However, this is not the first moon at 25 degrees in Taurus. On May 16, 2007, we had a new moon at the same exact degree. Perhaps history will repeat itself again to make things better and newer. Some of the events are already replicating, perhaps the circumstances may be different but pattern remains the same. For example, in 2007, a breakthrough with the use of embryonic stem cells to cure Alzheimer’s made progress, however, it was halted by the President. In 2018, there is a breakthrough in stem cell transplantation for MS patients through chemotherapy and rebooting the neurons.
On the national front, in 2007 The Virginia Tech shooting in Blacksburg VA, alone, killed 32 people, not to mention there were more people killed in the Florida shooting and many others. So far, in 2018 there have been well over 75 killings due to school shootings. Perhaps something would finally change?
Nevertheless, May 15, 2018 also marks the date that Uranus changes signs from Aries to Taurus. Taurus, which represents financial stability and the sign of the Bull (the reason Wall Street chose it), has already been shaken a couple of times. Uranus, like any other planet, has its ups and down according to Vedic Philosophies. It also has a dual spectrum, whereas, on one side it blesses exploration, technology, break through and overall restructure for the positive, so long as it is in a person’s house of work, legal issues, or career. Alternatively, if a person has heavy Taurus in their chart, it is likely to be difficult for them to cope.
Taurus’ have a personal relationship with Mother Earth, creativity, materialism, and crave wealth. This is an 8 to 9-year transitional cycle; meaning that even though Vedic Philosophies know about the effects of the planet, it is the family of Saturn. Thus, when Western Astrology claims a Saturn cycle to be 1 to 2 years, VPAT always represents it as an 8 to 9-year transit. Outer planets, such as Pluto, Uranus, and Saturn are all governed for their changes. Uranus is more complicated, however, because it is a once in a lifetime event as I stated in my predictive blog of 2018. (read about it here) The last time Uranus was in Taurus is 1930, when the great depression was the result of the 1929 stock market crash, and the focus on money was ever present.
If we are examining repeated patterns, one question arises – in 2007, when the Taurus moon was in the same degree, there was a mortgage crisis which caused stock values to drop, national and international economies were shaken which caused many borrowers to go into default. Could we be up for the same now that Uranus is in Taurus again? Only time will tell. But I can say, if spending is not valued, many problems could occur on a global scale. More on Uranus and historic parallels are yet to come.
A new moon is momentous in many ways as an optimistic fulfillment of days. This means if the goals are disadvantaged by partiality and selfishness then they would most likely not occur. Sometimes it can cause misinterpretation and our wishes struggle against our desires. The new moon is also a time of rejuvenation – a time when fresh starts are needed.
In a few days, May 18, Cancers may feel that this is a very lovely time as Venus is their sign. Venus in Cancer, however, does not mean it is only meaningful to Cancerians, it also means that all committed relationships will be affected. Cancer, Gemini, and Leo will be happy by this. This will be a time of collective love for at least a month. Add to this Mars also changed signs in crazy, quirky, and friendly ways, so it will be a fun, crazy time.
Hence, this time is about looking back at life and seeing what needs to be changed in areas of love and money. Changes will also be needed between love and lust, as Jupiter (planet of luck, and abundance) and law and lies Saturn (Difficult karmic lessons) are retrograding. Add to that, the Lord of the underworld, Pluto, is also retrograding which means that what was once hidden in the past is now available for you to see. Are you ready for this?
The New Moon signals a time of growing and maturing. There is a passion to have success and begin something creative, be it a small change in the way daily life is approached or a brand-new journey in life.
Taurus moon ushers in a time of vigilance and shrewdness. People may feel more essential and firm. This is a good time to continue or finish all your projects that have already been started, as people may be more reliable and systematic. Like the stubborn Bull representative of Taurus, people may be bull-headed — hesitant to pacification and argumentative. Care needs to be taken to avoid overindulgence and extreme worry, or longing for material possessions.
Since the moon in Taurus represents Calm, Tangible, Physical, Lasting, and Tenacious, we must use practical understanding. It is recommended to recite a mantra every morning until the next moon cycle. Remember that with all applications of psalms and mantras accomplishing the anticipated outcome is contingent upon the value of purpose.
The four mantras, from easy to expert, are meaningful ways to bring positive aspiration into one’s life.
Om Hreeng Kleeng Shreeng
(oom Hriing Kliing Shriing)
Om Gopalaya Uttardhvajaya Namah
Om draamg dreeng droung sah shukray namah .Om Rajadabaaya vidmahe,
Brigusuthaya dhimahi, tanno sukrah prachodayat”
Om Sarvabaadhaa Vinirmukto, Dhan Dhaanyah Sutaanvitah. Manushyo Matprasaaden
Bhavishyati Na Sanshayah.Om Om Shree Mahalakshmyai Cha Vidraahe Vishnu Patrayai

The eclipses are only two months away. For those who have had an in-depth reading during the eclipse, and have Taurus anywhere in their chart, it is time for an update now.
