Last Full Moon in Sagittarius

Full Strawberry Moon

June 20, 2016

By Maharani Rutan©

Euphoria! The second full moon in Sagittarius within 30 days, Summer Solstice, the beautiful strawberry moon will surely magnify our summer.

Even if the full moon wakes many of us on, June 20, 2016, it will defiantly make sure we are all awake when it is completely full at 7:02am EST and 4:02 PST. The full moon will move into Sagittarius to form a Gemini/Sagittarius axis at about 29-30 degrees, depending upon the orb; unlike the beautiful blue moon last month which was in the early degrees in Sagittarius (read about it here).

Charmingly, this full moon is named the strawberry moon, or a rose moon. Native folklore called this the rose moon because arrives at the time to crop strawberries and blesses the harvest through its glory given by the sun and the rain. Additionally, we also note that it creates a most beautiful hue.

Mercury retrograde is now behind us and is not due to visit us until end of July. Mars will move away in 9 days, Venus will enter Cancer, and Jupiter is still direct in Virgo. I would say it is not so bad, although certain people may feel that they are claustrophobic.

Not only is the moon in Sagittarius, but planet of Karmic lesson, Saturn, is still retrograding in Sagittarius until August 18, 2016; therefore, many changes are yet to come (read about it here). Change is not new to many people who have been influenced by Neptune since 2010. Although Neptune can be reflected upon as a very spiritual planet, it will be retrograding as of June 11, 2016 causing spirituality to come into question for many.

One of the most important phenomenon, which is rarely spoken of, is Chiron retrograde which will also occur on June 20, 2016. One of my oldest astrologer friends (Lee), mentioned this a long time ago and mentioned it again on my wedding day. I had no idea what he was talking about until much later as I did not know what Chiron really was.

I began to research Chiron and dug into my Vedas to find the references of Chiron, also known as Ketu. During my research I have come to realize that many western astrologers do not like to focus too much upon outer planets. But outer planets have just as much influence on human lives as inner planets. If you have had a reading from me recently, I also sent an email, “Astrology 101”, which expands on inner and outer planets. But as you will notice, Chiron is not mentioned. This is because not only is it complicated, but it is also seen as a small outer planet.

However, Chiron is an important planet in Vedic philosophies. Chiron is often referred to as the “wounded healer.” As many baby boomers are moving past their Chiron, we look at those that are between baby boomers and generation X. Everyone between the age of 48 and 51 will be the next to move through a Chiron return in their life. Chiron will allow many people to look at profound insight into healing emotional and external issues that have worked into our lives. It’s about accepting things you cannot change and God will take care of the rest. Meditate knowing that every spiritual experience not necessarily religious.

Relish the likely endings and release the anxiety created through reality. Let it be known that anyone who is a Sagittarius, or has any planets or houses in Sagittarius, including mutable signs (Gemini, Pisces and Virgo) as well as Fire signs (Leo, Aries and Sagittarius) will be affected by this full moon. The effect of this moon is a distinct illumination thus having a specific influence. For the most accurate possibilities of how this moon will affect you, I suggest you contact my recommended astrologers (here) or my most highly recommended astrologer (here).

During the full moon there is a predisposition of presence being very detached, engrossed, or actually considering the necessities of yourself and others through a telescopic lens. This full moon cares for us. Generosity, autonomous spiritual and philosophical ideas will be nurtured. It also drives our apprehensions and endorses the taking of chances. The higher picture of our lives is seen allowing us to bear witness to the tapestry of our own foundations. Though the embroidery of our lives can be outstanding and sometimes shocking, there is no doubt it is our own fabric that has created this while being involved with situations or people that have brought us pleasure or pain.

At times, this Full Moon can climax vital practical or logical expansions, or collective changes and reforms. Computers and other hi-tech equipment can be subject to failure or have other turbulences. Be on guard against “the unexpected or unusual” around this time. Individuals may present with some rather bizarre performance patterns under this influence while sudden separations or partings may occur for some around this time.

The Fiery Sagittarius Moon urges us to express ourselves ethically and to be straightforward. Faith is robust and enormous prophecies, or superior plans, take shape in our minds. Take a little trip… read a book.

The Moon in Sagittarius brings a time of assessment, chasing, and recklessness. People may feel bolder, amenable, and fun loving. It is a good time for exploring pleasure and philosophies, as well as expanding the mind. Like the Archer that represents Sagittarius, people may have a tendency toward pursuing truth and sophisticated consequences, developing a sixth sense, as well as expeditions of extravagance. While the longing for self-sufficiency will be robust, people may want to do what they want, when they want while being impulsive and liberated. These inclinations can cause irritation and a strong need for independence.

The moon in Sagittarius is very true with her feelings. She is bright and moral in delicate situations; considering others with reverence, empathy, and a sense of humor. She trusts in telling it like it is, even if the reality hurts. Sagittarius Moon needs for others to be honest with her as well. She is intensely damaged by deceitfulness. She has a talent for training others while also being a zealous student. Every responsive encounter is an opportunity for her to engage and help others with the information.

The moon in Sagittarius is Direct, Frank, Tough, Passionate, and Cautious. With all this mixed energy we must remain balanced. It is my suggestion that you purchase Orange and Yellow candles and carve your name through to the wick. Anoint the candles with sandalwood oil or lavender oil and chant Psalm 17. As you may have noticed, I have included two candles this time as this is the last full moon in Sagittarius and they represent the only two full moons in Sagittarius which occur back to back this year.

You may also choose to recite a mantra every morning until the next full moon cycle. Remember that with all applications of psalms and mantras, achieving the desired result is dependent upon the quality of intention. When it comes to finding satisfying relationships, it is of the greatest importance to begin with a clear understanding of what your goal should be.

The mantras can be hard to pronounce for many but are a powerful source of energy.

This mantra begins to awaken and activate the entire chakra. It specifically prepares the chakra to be able to handle the inflow of Jupiter energy that gives chakra its power.

The mantra for Sagittarius moon is:

“Om Gurave Nahmaha”

(Om Goo rah vey Nahm ah ha)

For the practicing Hindus, and those that have their Padma chakra open, replace the namaha with swaha.

With every moon cycle, remember to cross out the old affirmations, even if there is the slightest change, and create new ones. The perfect number for aspirations is 10. This means to list 10 aspirations and recite them every night until the next moon cycle. Remember, never make the affirmations begin with “I want”, they must be worded “I need to be guided.”

Please note that these are broad predispositions of the Full Moon and not to be taken as a straight negatives or positives. Always remember, for the most accurate forecast of how the Full Moon will affect you, or even to get a glimpse of the second half of 2016, I would suggest you consult with any of the recommended astrologers in my group.

Please note that I am NOT an astrologer nor claim to be one. However, as a Hindu Sanskrit reader, I use these utilities to be a threshold for our readings. In the Hindu ideology planets push the power of resistance and our free will takes action. Therefore, anything done through humility and nature will play a great importance in life’s positive outcomes.

For those who have not had a reading since March or April, and you or your partner is a fire sign, it may be time for a update as this will be the last update until August 2016.

Wishing you a fun filled Full Moon!
