Relationships of all kinds could have a new beginning. On October 15, 2012 we will have a New Moon in Libra at 4:02 am EST and 1:02 am PST at 22degrees.  On the grand scheme of things it could be wonderful; however, many are transiting the wrath of Saturn read more about it here.

This is perfect moon to discuss, plan out initiate those projects and things that are difficult to talk about. With Venus in Virgo, who’s nature is to nurture and trining, Pluto is about nurturing to regenerate a relationship and with its wonderful sextile to Mercury being in Scorpio. It’s like a perfect marriage.  It has always been equated that Virgos and Scorpios make the best match but this is pure gentleness yet getting straight to the point.  Both Virgos and Scorpios are healers and often play a martyr in their lives and make ultimate sacrifices. Thus, making this moon even more powerful since every sun sign will be affected including fire signs.

The New Moon signals a time of new beginnings. This is the time to act from your heart and trust the process – take a risk, live in the moment, dance to your own drummer. It is the seed of the beginning lunar cycle.  The chart of the New Moon is the key to influences in the coming lunar month.  The New Moon is an asking (invocative) time, and a time to formulate what our needs are according to the opportunities available (through Libra this month).

But this moon is not just an ordinary new moon.  For many Hindus it begins the first day of Navarati (9 nights) celebration.  This celebration is usually celebrated twice a year but is more popular in the fall because it is the closest to Dwali (festival of lights).  Navaratri is known as a celebration of thanks given to three deities who provided powerful energy needed for creation.  The number 9 represents 3 days of thankfulness to the 3 feminine deities with special abilities.

On October 15, 2012, Durga will be worshiped, Durga is known as the destroyer of all impurities such as, deception, lies, and harm to women and children.  She has been known to bring every power needed to bring life to order.  In addition to Durga, on October 18, 2012, Lakshmi Devi will be worshiped she is the deity of incredible wealth. As long as that wealth is retained for good of all and done through humility, however, the deities cannot work alone.  The celebration of Navarati will end with the worship of Saraswati who has been known as a deity of wisdom, education and creativity.  It has been known in the early Gita that all humans need all three aspects of Devine blessings to be well rounded.

It has always been questioned by many why feminism power has been such a grandeur rather than masculine.  This is because Hinduism is the only way of life where mother is the creation and the absolute to life. Therefore, just as we need masculinity (the world we live) we need feminists view (the emotions we feel) to feel and do things out of love of one another.

With a moon in Libra, there is a need a harmonious relationship with a loving partner to feel at peace emotionally. There will be constant assessment of emotions to seek just the right balance with others. A flare for beauty and art, and can express these in a meaningful way. Nurturing others by treating them fairly and seeing their beautiful qualities is the theme for this new moon. You may expect your mother to be a model of beauty, kindness, charm and fairness.

Libra Moon values harmonious relationships. It behaves so as to make sure that he or she is loved and the love is preserved. It’s a need to please the people you feel close to, and the want to be cherished with kindness, an appealing manner, and with music and beautiful things. Libra Moon needs close friendship, partnership or marriage to feel nurtured and safe.  A need for peace, harmony and pleasant surroundings is a must. In emotional situations, the Libra Moon tends to act very sensibly and strives to make reasonable decisions.  Hating a fight, Libras even finesse their way out of confrontation. People will have strong sympathy and strive to please others.  This comes from the Libran search for harmony and balance, for the Libra nature emphasizes collaboration.

It’s a good time to form relationships of all nature such as—friendships, marriages, and business. The planet Venus that manifests the environment as a friendly, tolerant nature and a desire to beautify many things rules Libra. It is an excellent time for artistic work as the beauty of Venus is a combine with rational ease of an air sign. Altogether, it’s a lovely time for social gathering, when the consciousness of self, as expressed in the first six signs of the zodiac, becomes united with the awareness of needs and desires of others.

Since, moon in Libra represents Charming, Attractive, Luxurious, Fair-Minded, and Loving, it is my suggestion for us to remain balanced.  This New moon is extraordinary to many signs. It is my suggestion that you purchase a yellow candle and carve your name one through the wick.  Anoint the candle with lavender oil or peppermint and chant the psalm 26.  You may also choose to recite a mantra every morning until the next moon cycle.

Remember that with all applications of psalms and mantras achieving the desired result is depended upon the quality of intention, and when it comes to finding satisfying relationships, it is of the greatest importance to begin with a clear understanding of what your goal should be. The mantras can be hard to pronounce for many but it is a powerful source of energy the mantra for Libra moon is:

Om Shukrya Namaha

(Om Shoo-krah-yah Nahm-ah-ah)

This mantra produces the quality of friendship within oneself including others.

The intention of this mantra is smooth your path in life by helping you understand the lessons you have set for yourself and through karma the negativity will surpass with every moon cycle. Remember to cross out the old affirmation even if there is a slightest change and create new ones. The perfect number for aspiration is 10.  This means to list 10 aspirations and recite them every night until the next moon cycle.  Remember never make the affirmations beginning with “I balance”, it must be worded “I need balance in my life with friendship and love.”

Please note I am not an astrologer, however, the ground work for a Vedic reader is the foundation of Astrology which works in harmony with Saturn the planet of difficult lessons and Asma (intentions) to bring a beautiful trine of resolutions and clarity to bring with it sublime bliss to every aspect of the human soul.

Wishing a safe and loving journey through is magnificent moon and Happy Navarti to all.
