Full Moon in Taurus/ Blood Moon

October 29, 2012

On October 29, 2012 we will have a full moon entering in Taurus at 6 degrees, give or take the position of the orb.  This magnificent light may be visible around 3:49 pm EST or 12:49 pm PST and shimmer down on many to help realize what is really important.

The October moon has been named by the Pagan community as the Blood moon where the communities prepare for the coming of Halloween, whereas the folklore may call this moon the Hunters moon.  Whichever name it signifies, it does not matter as the only thing which matters is a change or an ending to begin a new journey.

“Taurus is the natural ruler of the second house of earned income and possessions, and it is here our interests will lie for the time. It falls on the second and eighth house axis which rules other people’s money, debt and taxes. (As well as sex, and sexual issues) While Taurus energy is usually relatively calm, Taurus is ruled by Venus. Venus concerns love and money. Taurus is a fixed sign and energy is slower and more stubborn. Decisions made at this time generally stand the test of time.  Full moon energy usually begins to occur 5-7 days before and after the full moon.” Leslie Hale

Full moon is always about things coming to a climax and the New moon is to begin something, which means to let go and it could be difficult. However, this full moon is especially welcomed due to moving planets…and this full moon comes just in time. Or did it? Mercury has begun its journey where the days only intensify with time and Saturn has already entered the sign of Scorpio which brings change for all those that have planet in fixed signs. Read more about it here

The planet of communication has already begun to move retrograde. When planets retrograde they bring us important lessons.  It is a time of thoughts, preoccupation, loosing, perception, letting go and finding the truth. Read more about it here

“Mercury squares Neptune over the next few days, and Mercury-Neptune transits can bring out psychic influences, dreams and creativity.  But they don’t call Neptune the planet of illusion, delusion and confusion for nothing and this transit is all about confusion, misinformation, or discouragement for some.  There may well be conditions in some areas that have to do with water or water damage.” Leslie Hale

Everything becomes purer and more influential under the light of the Full Moon – passion and self-esteem can become quite magnified, and we may have more mindfulness and focus on relationships. There may be a feeling of powerful energy by the light of the Moon and have more luminous dreams.  Bleeding and hemorrhaging are more likely during a Full Moon, so take care. This is the time to plant crop, Pray and be Thankful, and to work on productiveness and success.  Love and Romance go wild under a Full Moon, especially around midnight. In a full moon you may become highly objective, clear minded and aware of your own needs and the need of others.

This moon is quite unique in many ways.  First, many planets have begun to move direct yet retrograde there continues to be mixed emotions.  However, we learned some difficult truth through sacrifices which leads to endings.  Now we have to postpone our own happiness to allow our soul to grow. This personal evolution has seeped a lot of discomfort and losses which in fact has allowed us to share our learned experiences with others-this also helps us to understand ourselves.

Under this full moon we are aware of our values and priorities to create our own world.  It is gardens of our lives the Scorpio/Taurus powers demonstrate a pure relationship between the sources and its origins.  In easier terms it means our significances of Taurus and our mystic of Scorpio.  There is absolutely no time; under misapprehension there must be an absolute focus and discipline in the areas that require change to allow concrete change. Hence Scorpions and fixed signs will continue to go through changes for 2.5 years to 7 years read more about it here.

Energy may be placed towards academic pursuits to solidify already learned education or skills; in addition, many will seek out the company of friends to fill the emotional void.  There may be tendencies to nurture people and simply accepting eccentric behavior keeping in mind, after all, people are people.  This full moon will give the energy to calm down and relax.  The Taurus energy will allow the Phoenix to rise out of ashes.

The Moon in Taurus pushes for a time of caution and practicality. People may feel more old-fashioned and persistent. This is a good time to continue or to finish projects that have already been started, as people may be more dependable and thorough. Like the stubborn Bull representative of Taurus, people may be bull-headed — reluctant to negotiation and be confrontational. Care needs to be taken to avoid hedonism and disproportionate concern or desire for material wealth.

Since, moon in Taurus represents Tranquil, Concrete, Corporeal, Tolerant, and Persistent, we must use the practical senses. Whatever your sign and wherever Taurus is placed in your Natal Chart, this moment of renewed alignment between your sense of personal direction and your sense of emotional commitment marks the place where stability is important to you. Here is where you want things to be conservative, harmonious, and enjoyable — and where resources, both financial and in terms of personal relationships, are applied and exchanged.

The Moon transiting Taurus gives us a very different feeling. Moon in Taurus is inclined towards gratified, perseverance, attentiveness, and conservation. This is a good time to withdraw or to schedule a lazy day of rest and sensual enjoyment. It’s a time to get into your physical senses and to enjoy the physical world around you through your senses. It is also a good time for environmental or preservation efforts. The theme note seems to be constancy and holding fast. This is not the time to clean out closets and drawers. You’ll want to keep everything.

You may also choose to recite a mantra every morning until the next moon cycle. Remember that with all applications of psalms and mantras achieving the desired result is depended upon the quality of intention, and when it comes to finding a satisfying relationships and success, it is of the greatest importance to begin with a clear understanding of what your goal should be. The mantras can be hard to pronounce for many but it is a powerful source of energy the mantra for Taurus moon is:

Om Sri shukraya Namaha

(om Shri Shu Kra Ya Nama Ha)

Remember the 12 aspirations.  Don’t forget to cross off the ones you have already accomplished and make new ones. Don’t forget to manifest matters concerning materialistic things at this time.  And most of all don’t forget to light a white candle that day. Carve your name on the candle anoint the candle with Frankincense oil and chant Psalm 65 three times.

Please remember that I am not an astrologer nor do I claim to be but the Astrological transformation is pivotal utility necessary to encompass the best results in Vedic Sanskrit readings. Vedic readings are based upon Indian sages who use the planetary influences to be more enlightening to contributions to mankind through morally and understanding of karmas. It is through Vedic Sanskrit readings that we can encompass how our actions causes reactions which attaches conflicts which can be easily be avoided through understanding and standardization of our egos.

May this moon bring you peace and productivity.

Mercury Retrograde October – November 2012

Ghost Period October 19 through November 06, 2012

Retrograde Period November 6, 2012 through November 26,2012

Stationing Period November 26 through December 14, 2012

By Maharani Rutan©

On October 19, 2012, the planet of communication will begin its journey backwards in the sign of Scorpio; this slowness will set the stage for the most intense period. The sluggishness prior to intensity is known as the ghost period.  As Mercury sets the stage to slow down, many fixed signs (Leo, Aquarius, Taurus and Scorpio), will experience the intensity, but the most will be for Scorpios.  Intensity period will be more magnified from November 6, 2012 through November 26, when Mercury moves into the sign of Sagittarius.

The last time so much intense energy may have been felt was October 28, 2006 through November 18, 2006.

Even though, this retrograde focuses on fixed signs, mercury is always problematic mutable signs (Gemini, Pisces, Virgo and Sagittarius) so it can be assumed everyone will be affected.

This awkward period lasts for three weeks or so, until it finally straightens out on November 26, 2012 bringing things back to almost normal. The stationing period will begin November 26, 2012 and real normalcy will be felt December 14, 2012 when everyone will come out of the fog.

Mercury turns retrograde three times a year, as a rule, but the effects of each period differ, according to the sign in which it happens. This retrograde it is placed in the planets of Scorpio so whichever house Scorpio is in, whether it is your sun sign, moon , Venus or ascendant, it will have a high impact on the predominate signs.  A planet is described as retrograde when it appears to be moving backwards through the zodiac. This traditional concept arises in the illusory planetary motion created by the orbital rotation of the earth, with relation to other planets in our solar system.

Planets are never actually retrograde or stationary, they just seem that way, due to this optical illusion.  Retrograde periods, although often problematic for us earthlings, are not particularly uncommon. Each planet retrogrades, except the Sun and Moon. Mercury, much like the winged messenger of the gods, comes in on feather-light wings and commands us to speak. Communication, intellect, and awareness are all within Mercury’s domain, as are logic and reasoning, our manner of thinking, and how we create and express our thought processes. A mercurial nature brings to mind restlessness and motion. Rat-a-tat-tat — things happen fast here.

Mercury is about a quick wit, quick thinking, opportunities, opinions, reasoning and the ability to rationalize things. Mercurial energy can be good or bad, but it will certainly be energizing! This Planet also prompts us to move from one thing to the next and to get answers on both a physical and psychological level. Furthermore, Mercury’s energy is both dexterous and perceptive. Mercury is about short trips: a visit to a neighbor or a friend across town, the workaday commute, and a weekend getaway. Siblings and transportation in general, are also within Mercury’s realm. Speaking, writing, books, online communications and learning are all within Mercury’s domain.

This Planet implores us to express ourselves often — and well. When Mercury goes retrograde (the appearance of traveling backward), however, our communications will be challenged. Because Mercury rules communication and transportation, these two areas are most influenced during a Mercury Retrograde. Conversations might be more difficult, as crossed signals and unclear meanings confuse normally straightforward discussions. Still, with a little caution and consideration, you’ll get your point across. Similarly, be prepared with a back-up plan when you’re traveling. If your flight gets canceled or your car won’t start, remain calm and make the best of it. Who knows — you might not have met that fascinating new person in the airport lobby or bus stop if you had taken your flight or driven to work…
Remember, we can use this powerful energy in positive ways. Use this time to do activities that start with “re”: renew, repair, review, renegotiate, and research…

In general, Mercury rules thinking and perception, processing and disseminating information and all means of communication, commerce and transportation. By extension, Mercury rules people who work in these areas, especially those who work with their minds or their wits: writers and orators, commentators and critics, gossips and spin doctors, tricksters and thieves.

Mercury retrograde in Scorpio ascents to a sharp, cynical language. People generally tend to be intrepid and obstinate, reckless and problematic to get along with. Knowledge and information is associated with control and confidentiality. Confusion arises over surreptitious matters that become visible and foolish information arising from those who adhere inflexibly to their attitudes. Mysticism and the occult maybe in the news, scarily so! People are more argumentative, cynical and suspicious, hanging on to contrasting views and often satirical to others. The emotional influence of Scorpio sharpens our predispositions, but makes us less understanding. Secrets will come to light, often to the embarrassment of those concerned. It is not a good time for a medical operation. All areas of communication are affected, especially in matters related to concealed things, sexual encounters, zealous promises, speciousness, investigations and the occult.

Mercury retrograde increases personal misunderstandings; damaged, dislocated, or delayed communications, negotiations and trade; glitches and breakdowns with phones, computers, cars, buses, and trains. All of these problems usually arise because some crucial piece of information, or component, has gone astray, or awry.

Artistic propensities including crafts, music, art or design tend to be blocked by circumstances beyond one’s control. Legal matters will proceed slowly and unforeseen obstacles tend to emerge. Mercury retrograde tends to lack depth of perception and has no patience for detailed analysis.

All areas of communication are affected. Methods and motivation for learning, communication and transportation are subject to difficulties under this aspect. It brings travel snafus and missed appointments of all kinds. Documents can also go astray. Be sure to carry a diary and refer to it often. The good things to do when Mercury is Retrograde: meditate, contemplate, edit the book/poem/song/essay you’ve been writing, clean house, talk to your pet, listen to music, paint, and catch up on sleep!

Since, Mercury is a very slow moving planet, and it effect almost all planetary signs, it is my suggestion that you purchase a yellow candle and carve your name through the wick.  Anoint the candle with Inspiration oil or Eucalyptus oil and chant the psalm 70 every single night.  This period will last for 3 weeks and it will be hard on all of us.  This will allow friendly communications as well as understandings in situations. You may also choose to recite a mantra every morning until December 14, 2012.

Remember that with all applications of psalms and mantras achieving the desired result is dependent upon the quality of intention, and when it comes to finding satisfying relationships, it is of the greatest importance to begin with a clear understanding of what your goal should be. The mantras can be hard to pronounce for many but it is a powerful source of energy I have chosen two mantras for you during this mercury retrograde:

“Om Budhaya Namaha”

(Om Bood-han-yah Nahm-ah-ha)

“Om and salutations to Buddha, presiding spirit of planet mercury”

Om Shani Namaha

(Om Sh-ani Nahm-ah-ha)

“Om and salutation to Saturn who provide us with the cultivation of important lessons”

This mantra is used to achieve mental clarity, to avoid and overcome misunderstandings and keep friendly communications flowing.

Please remember it is a very important time for all Scorpios during the retrograde time.  If you have not had an in-depth reading it is important that you have one now since many planets are ruling around this wonderful astrological signs.

Just a reminder I am not an astrologer however, planetary tendencies are the ground work for Vedic readings to provide optional resolutions for a maximum bliss.

Many people will read about the Saturn transits through various resources and each article will encompass something unique.  However, perhaps a unique prospective of this transit or even interesting concept is to consider the notion that there are many ways that planets are views and how the effects of these planets impact humanity.  One the primogenital concept is through Vedic readings and astrology.

Vedic Astrology has been known to be one of the oldest forms of Astrology that has been practiced throughout the Eastern philosophies.   Through these studies forms a unique practice of what is known as a Vedic Readers.  However, to be able to understand what a Vedic Reader does, one has to understand the practice of Vedic Astrology in its formation, which is that every planet in the universe sits in every humans chart (very similar to Western Astrology).  However, in Western Astrology the Earth gravitates around the sun whereas in Vedic it gravitates around the moon.

This push and pull becomes a behavioral instability in every human through pressures of the sun, the moon, or the planets in general.  A Vedic reader focuses primarily on lessons being learned and adjustments which can bring positive results as well as extreme karmic forces.  This type is often referred to as ground work for Saturn.

“The season of Scorpio is upon us, encouraging us to dig beneath the surface of all matters and discover what actually lies beneath those things we take for granted and live with in the world. These are the feelings and energy we will be living under for the next two and a half years, and nothing will be superficial during the period Saturn is in the most intense of signs.” Leslie Hale

On October 5, 2012, Saturn will enter Scorpio.  Saturn is known as Shani in the Vedic scriptures.  Like many deities in the Hindu philosophy, this deity also has its own reasons for being and reasons magnifying during certain periods.  Shani is Devi (Deity, Avatar of God) and is prominent in many cultures and beliefs of Hinduism. Shani is a representation of the older deities as a son of Surya (the sun deity).  With its complex history Shani has been known to protect humans from sinful acts and help remove obstacles. However, many Hindus fear this deity and its presence, yet it is also present in every human’s chart.  The complex question arises when we ask how a deity enters a human’s chart.

“Saturn makes its grand entrance into the sign that rules the eighth house of death, transformation, taxes and sex on October 5, for the first time in 30 years.” Leslie Hale

It has been written that every Avatar enters a human’s chart through reincarnation of the sins in heaven, for every human is an image of God himself and every sin in heaven will be felt by the humans on earth.   Since every human has Saturn (Shani) in their charts just like Pisces (Gods birth chart in their chart or the creator himself) anyone who has been under the influence of Shani will be at a risk of bad luck or difficult lessons.

Shani has been known to be the greatest teacher of all. He wishes well for those that are humble and take the righteous path and punish those that are focused on greed and vengeance.    When Shani (Saturn) transits through one’s chart it takes a pass for about 2.5 years in total of 7 years when it reaches every astrological sign.  During a Shani (Saturn) period one could feel depressed, disappointed, alone, become agitated.  Or sometimes it can have a complete opposite affect where life is a pleasure.  This all depends upon the placement of Shani (Saturn) in ones chart.

Shani only prefers something or someone that is solid.  Anything that is altering or changing will not be allowed and Shani becomes angry.  Therefore it is advised not to start any project during the time Shani is orbiting your chart.  Always keep in mind Shani is not meant to cause harm but to bring harmony to your own Karma.   Once he leaves then he has taught us great lessons of our past sins which we knowingly committed and showers us with gifts at the door step for enduring his wrath.

Saturn last transited this sign November 30, 1982-November 18, 1985. Prior to this it was October of 1953-October of 1956. Anyone born during these periods will experience their first or second Saturn return during the next two and a half year cycle. Queen Elizabeth of England, God willing, and all others her age will experience their third Saturn return. This period always proves a pivotal point, as one prepares to make way for their next life phase, as the planet structure and limitation returns to its original place in our natal chart every 29.9 years. ” Leslie Hale

Shani has been orbiting Tula (Libra’s) for the past 2.5 years and up to 7 years and now moving into Scorpio (Vrischika). The rashi (Hindu Astrological name for a moon sign) Vrischika (Scorpio) will begin its path on the very structure of the rashi which is regarded in the Vedic philosophies as the head or the beginning of formation of one’s life. For most Scorpios this could begin as early as October 5 or as late as November 15, 2012, depending on the severity of natives (persons) chart according to Western Astrology.

Shani in Vrishika (Scorpio) refers to things unexpected and anything that has been hidden from ones self or eyes of another will go wrong. A good example of this could be while driving something unexpected falls on your windshield which blurs your vision and there is nothing that can be done. Be careful on 8, 17 and 26 of any month.  Also be extra careful during the spring.  Be careful with any sexual or personal diseases.  There are tendencies to loose things that are precious (as things that mean luck to you), there could be knee problems, reproductive issues, fractures and serious health or blood problems.

However, according to Vedic Astrology Shani period entered Libra on August 04, 2012 and will continue until November 2014 at which time it will enter Scorpio.  This is because Vedic Astrology focuses around the moon rather than the sun as practiced in Western Astrology.  It’s almost like imagining what sign you would be if one was born on the cusp.  For example if a person is born on October 24, this would be considered late Libra whereas in the western astrology it is a Scorpio.  In these case it is my suggestion to find out from a western astrologer what is your moon sign they will be able to tell you.

The beginning of Shani period is always the most difficult.  If it transits in your moon or sun sign it could be that one will have health problems, often it is a period of things unexpected or hidden.  It could result from financial losses because of legal issues, or that work will be too much to bear, or that no matter how hard one tries to make things work in their career, frustrations are overwhelming.  Shani also brings out enemies that you never knew you had.  Risky business will NOT work during this period; especially lies or deception or even hiding the truth just a little bit. But shani does not stop at only finances. Finances are the foundation of one’s life; as well as family or even any kind of relationships such as business, friendship or even love. Tensions could arise at work with co-workers, financial problems could arise unexpectedly, and risky business will fall by the way side.  However, remember the gifts of Shani.

“As Saturn moves through Scorpio it will take on the characteristics attributed to that sign. Scorpio is ruled by Mars and Pluto. Mars is an aggressive planet, considered the God of War, and the energy it evokes is anything but passive. Scorpio energy is regenerative, not fond of compromise, emotional, determined, charismatic controlling and often takes on a ‘do or die’type of approach. The highest and best use of this energy is to heal or to transform. Scorpio energy can sink to the depths of depravity or soar to the highest of spiritual realms. It is a powerful sign.” Leslie Hale

Once this period is over, as are the lessons of shani, anything that forced hard work and extra patience, even to the point of biting your tongue, will fall into place.   But, to find out how intense or how long this period will last it is my recommendation that one talks to my preferred astrologer, Leslie Hale.

The best ways to reduce the intensity of Shani wrath and or the effects of Shani  is to recite a Mantra 108 times daily which is

Om Sham Shanaischaryaye Namaha

(Om Sham Shana ischa ryaye Nam a ha)

In addition those who practice the Hindu religion it is recommended that there is fasting on Saturdays (which represents the day of Shani) and do a Pooja to Hanuman every Saturday until this period ends.

However, those that will be affected during this Shani period will not just be Scorpio but all those who have Scorpio somewhere in their chart will be affected.

Remember a Vedic reader gives you notice of all your Saturn’s (important lessons) and provides solutions which brings a gateway to sublime resolutions.  It is up to you if you want to change the situation to your advantage or live behind rose colored glasses.

Wishing you well through this transformation please remember if you are a fixed sign (Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius, Taurus) you could very well feel these affects.  Additionally, if you are a Libra your journey is over but not complete until next year in accordance to Vedic Philosophies.
